Always Wear Your Invisible Crown
For this activity, you will need either a paper crown, an inflatable crown, or something that represents a crown. (You could even have an imaginary invisible one if you wanted to!)

From the Bible:
James chapter 1 verse 12 (NIrV)
Blessed is the person who keeps on going when times are hard.
After they have come through hard times, this person will receive a crown.
The crown is life itself.
The Lord has promised it to those who love him.
The word 'blessed' that James uses in this verse, means a lot more than just being happy.
It refers to someone who is cherished by God and has received His grace.
The word also describes inner joy - the sort that doesn't change when things in our lives are difficult, just because this joy comes from trusting in God.
The verse is talking about facing the hard times with courage and resisting temptation in the same way.
James is not saying that these difficulties are a blessing.
He is saying God’s gift, the crown of life, is the blessing.
This is not only for the distant future but also for the here and now.
We think calling it an invisible crown that we should continue to wear is fun - and it will help us remember that when we are in God's family, we are cherished and we have God's grace.
Wear the Crown to Pray:*
- About how life is at the moment and the things you are struggling with.
- To thank God for helping you in a difficult situation or when you have been tempted to do something you know is wrong.
- To thank God for this promised invisible crown.

* We understand that wearing the crown, even when you're on your own, can feel embarrassing (Kay feels like that too!)
Feel free to just hold the crown, whilst knowing that no one else but God can see you wearing the invisible crown He has promised.
